Spring Fever Challenge Reveal

I was thrilled when I was picked to be one of the entrants into the Spring Fever Challenge organised by Lesley Watt of Thea Elements, Caroline Dewison of Blueberribeads and Claire of Smitten Beads.

Here is a reminder of the beads and ribbon I received.

First off I took the ceramic focal by Lesley and made some matching glass beads. Then I took the smaller bird by Bluberribeads and added a little bit of patina so that it matched the focal a little I also hand painted the clasp with patina. I used some scrummy Czech glass from Smitten beads and some glass chips that had been sitting in my stash for eons.

Next up Earrings. I took the pair of ceramic beads from Lesley and hand painted some green spots on them. Then I made a pair of glass discs and rings to match.

and finally the piece I am most pleased with. This necklace uses the sari ribbon from Smitten beads, the bird and leaf from Blueberribeads and the last ceramic bead from Lesley. I used some of my Fibrewire in blue and threaded the sari silk around it then I made some cute bellflowers in a very pale lemon glass. I had some leaf connectors and I wired the bellflowers and some brass leafs onto each one and then wired these onto the Fibrewire.

Here are some close-ups

I made some big hole lampwork beads to thread the sari silk onto and added a cute flower brass clasp to finish it off.

All of these pieces are available for sale if you are interested please email me on earth-shine@hotmail.co.uk and some of the components are available in my Etsy store.
